Challenge

Barnet Homes engaged the services of Delta Surveys Ltd in 2021 after identifying a need to upgrade insulation and heating of their General Needs properties They aim to improve the energy efficiency of their housing stock, but the high cost of such upgrades presented a challenge, especially for a non-profit housing provider with limited funds.

Solution

Delta Surveys Ltd leveraged ECO4 funding to provide no-cost cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and energy-efficient heating and solar solutions. Following an in-depth review of Barnet Homes’s housing stock, of the hundreds of properties Delta Surveys identified as being eligible for ECO3 and ECO4 funding Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation, Internal Wall Insulation, High Heat Retention storage heaters and Solar PV has been delivered to, and will continue to be delivered to, a significant number of Barnet Homes General Needs properties since 2021 for no cost.

Delta manages the entire lifecycle of the projects, from initial surveys and securing funding to coordinating with tenants and handling all installation logistics.

Implementation

Housing Stock Evaluation: Delta conducts thorough assessments of Barnet Homes properties, prioritising homes with the most inefficient heating systems for upgrades, coupled with delivering insulation and solar panels where applicable.

Securing Funding and Administration: Delta initiated and secured ECO3 & ECO4 100% funding from various energy suppliers which covers the entire cost of measures relivered. All administration and processing requirements are managed by Delta, making the funding acquisition seamless for Barnet Homes.

Installation and Tenant Coordination: The team works closely with residents, organising appointments that suited their schedules to minimise inconvenience. Delta’s careful planning and coordination ensures a smooth installation process for both tenants and property managers.

Project Tracking and Reporting: Weekly progress updates and detailed documentation are provided to Barnet Homes, ensuring transparency and a record of each property’s upgrades.
