Data Analysis of Housing Stock
Precise and comprehensive evaluation of housing stock for No Cost to identify eligible properties for WH-SHF funded heating, insulation, and renewable energy upgrades.
And an in-depth analysis of housing stock to identify the properties in EPC band D and E which we can lodge in Band C, simply by carrying out a new EPC survey.
EPC Upgrades to Band C
EPC lodgements from D or E up into EPC Band C for no more than the cost of having an EPC survey carried out.
Identifying properties with expired or no EPC in real time by checking up to the minute lodgements on the EPC Register.
After careful analysis it’s been identified that energy ratings for most properties on social housing databases are either incorrect, out of date or are in the wrong (lower) EPC band.
Based on experience, large numbers of D or E rated EPC’s (which should be in Band C) are found on the ‘live’ EPC Register which can be easily corrected simply by having an EPC survey carried out and lodged in Band C on the Register which cancels out/supersedes the existing or expired incorrect EPC currently on the Register.
Installation of Loft Insulation to achieve EPC Band C
For the few properties where re-lodging the EPC alone will not upgrade the property from D or E to C band Delta Surveys will facilitate for loft insulation to be upgraded to 300mm+ or to 350mm to enable the property to achieve EPC Band C with a new EPC survey carried out after installation then lodged on the EPC Register in Band C.
Current Building Regulations require loft insulation to be 270mm deep, but at Delta Surveys, we go the extra mile by upgrading Loft Insulation to 300mm+ or to 350mm deep.
Why instal extra depth?
EPC software rates 270mm as ‘Good,’ but 300mm+ or 350mm earns a ‘Very Good’ rating, resulting in a higher SAP score.
This seemingly small difference has a big impact on EPC bands.
For instance, upgrading loft insulation to 270mm in D rated properties very often leaves them in EPC Band D, but increasing it to 300mm+ or 350mm nearly always raises the property’s rating from EPC D band up into Band C, resulting in significantly more properties being lodged on the EPC Register in Band C.
